Truer Participates in the Circuit Symposium on Design Patent Protection Hosted by SIPO and WIPO

To further advance the application of design patents in the economic domain, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) hosted a circuit symposium on design patent protection in Shunde, Guangdong Province (Sep. 5th) and Nanchang, Jiangxi Province (Sep. 8th). A number of experts and scholars, both domestic and abroad, were invited to speak and hold interactive discussions on various topics covering the design patent protection system in China, international protection for design patents, the Hague System, how enterprises use a design as a commercial instrument, and experience and opinions on corporate protection for design patents. Deputy Director General of the SIPO Li Yuguang, Deputy Secretary General of WIPO Wang Binying, and head of the Information and Promotion Division of WIPO Yves Closet attended the symposiums. As a participant in the symposium, Yu Shangwei, a partner of China Truer IP, realized the practical significance of design patents in supporting and protecting domestic technologies, products and brands, as well as in exploring international markets.
